Ending violence against women and children in Asia and the Pacific: Opportunities and challenges for collaborative and integrative approaches.

Recognizing the need for greater collaboration in this area, UNICEF’s East Asia and the Pacific RegionalOffice, UNFPA’s Asia and the Pacific Regional Office, and UN Women’s Regional Office for Asia and thePacific partnered on a regional, multi-country initiative to explore opportunities for better coordination and amore integrated approach to VAW and VAC policies, action plans, programmes and services in Asia andthe Pacific, and to identify a way forward amid existing challenges. The key focus was on forms of VAC andVAW that occur within spaces and relationships of trust (such as intimate or dating relationships, familiesor schools). The multi-country initiative consisted of four exploratory studies in Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Viet Nam.
